Leblanc's Rice Creek has two upcoming events, the Iron Man Shoot 2011and the Black Powder shoot

Hello Shooters, We have two upcoming shooting events The Iron Man Meat Shoot - July 8, 9, & 10. The other event is a Black Powder Shoot July 3. Attached is info on each shoot, both are great fun if you like shooting! The Black Powder Shoot is hosted by Elden and is a casual event with a touch of competition. The Iron Man Meat Shoot is sporting clays at its finest; you can shoot 50 to 600 targets in the three days. The main event is 400 targets on Saturday & Sunday. You can just enter 100 targets and have it counted for NSCA, or you can shoot at them all, give us a call if your new to the Iron Man and we will give you more info. Good shooting, Joe & Gregg

Leblanc's Rice Creek Youth Camp

Our first Rice Creek Youth Camp is coming up soon. Our first camp is a Firearm Safety Camp starting Sunday 6/12/11. Youth campers 11 15 will be attaining their DNR firearm safety certificate during this camp. As of right now, we still have room for a few campers in our first camp. Attached is a PDF brochure of the youth camps. If youre interested in getting involved with the youth camps here at Rice Creek and would like to donate some time, we would love to have you help with going fishing, gun safety & shooting instructions, overnight camping and woods excursion or just general chaperoning of the kids. Please call us at the club if this is something that would interest you. Other camps that are tentatively scheduled are: 2nd Firearm Safety Camp 6/26/11 7/1/11 1st Advanced Shooting & Hunting Camp 8/1/11 8/5/11 2nd Advanced Shooting & Hunting Camp 8/15/11 8/19/11 We try to fill up our first camps before taking campers for our second camps, we must have at least six campers scheduled for the second camp one week in advance or the camp will be cancelled. 19th Annual Rice Creek/ Reeds Family Gun Fair

This coming weekend here at Rice Creek is the 19th Annual Rice Creek/ Reeds Family Gun Fair, April 16th & 17th starting at 9:00 - 5:00 on Saturday and 9:00-4:00 on Sunday. See super star trick shooters CZ - USA Tom Knapp (Sunday only), Benelli's Tim Bradley and the Gould Brothers. Try before you buy, Reed's will have lots of guns to shoot for free courtesy of 16 different gun reps, sales on gun ammo and lots more. Bring your own gun to shoot sporting clays, two courses will be open. Bring your Antlers to be scored (for free) by the Minnesota Official Measure's and compare them to the display of deer mounts from the Rice Creek area. Rice Creek/Mild Marsh (Wild Rice 200)

Update on the Rice Creek/Dick Nelson Yankee Doodle Shoot & Archery Turkey Hunt

Rice Creek E-Mail News We have 10 people signed up for the Rice Creek/ Dick Nelson shoot and it is a go on Saturday, March 5th, we would like to get 10 more. We are planning to have the shoot and each shooter will get a chance to shoot at close to 30 birds apiece. Our first archery turkey hunt is full, the second hunt, Sunday March 6th, has 3 teams, we will only have it if we get 5 more teams. The Rice Creek Family Gun Fair, April 16 & 17, is starting to take shape. Schedule to appear some time during the weekend will be Tom Knapp, Bennelli's Tim Bradley and a young shooting dual "The Gould Brothers". Try lots of guns out, shoot sporting clays and have a great time up at Rice Creek. It's almost warmed up and a few people hunted pheasants, when it does warm up in March we will have a few pheasants to hunt, so if your thinking of coming up, please call us well in advance so we can have birds for you. Rice Creek News Start planning for a late winter, early spring pheasant hunt. We need to know if you plan on shooting any pheasants before our turkey hunting starts on April 1st. The Rice Creek/Dick Nelson Yankee Doodle Shoot How Many Birds: 400 Pheasants, 140 pigeons, 20 turkeys What type of Shoot: European Driven Shoot When: Saturday, March 5, 2011 - Arrive at 10:00 a.m. Where: The Majestic Pines & Fields of Rice Creek Cost: $395.00 per person Each year we celebrate a tradition that Dick Nelson started many years ago, The Dick Nelson Yankee Doodle Shoot. Come help us fill our freezer by trying to harvest part of over 560 birds. Based on 20 hunters, they will be shooting at 20 turkeys, at least 400 pheasants & 140 pigeons and possibly a few other birds that may be driven overhead. Everyone will enjoy a Wild Game Feast afterward and toast a great shoot. Dick's shoot is always open to new people that would like to have a lot of fun, enjoy wing shooting and meet friends. This type of shoot is sometimes called a tower shoot, or a circle shoot. Our tower gives us a great launching platform for the birds to be driven from. Seeing those turkeys fly overhead is a sight to behold. The great thing about this kind of shoot is that anyone can enjoy the shooting even if walking is not as easy as it used to be. If you would like to organize your own shoot, give us a call (minimum of 8 shooters). Also, we can do a Yankee Doodle shoot well into the summer, as the hunt can be done in warm-weather conditions. You must register with Rice Creek in advance as it is limited to 20 shooters. If you can, sign up with a friend or multiples of two, as there are two shooters to each stand. Shooters that come alone will be teamed up with someone and it will give you the chance to meet a new shooting partner. Hunters will be taking a Pheasant Pot Pie, a Duck Chili and a smoked Mallard apiece if they desire. See you soon, Gregg & Joe
